I know why you’re here.

You’re trying to find the right person to open up to. Someone who will genuinely understand what you’re going through right now and meet you from a place of compassion. 

​

I understand how scary it can be to talk about the deeply personal issues in your life. Maybe you worry you’ll be judged or feel like your emotions are not valid.

​

Not here.  At a young age, I realized I had a desire to help others who were struggling emotionally or needed someone to listen to them.  When I was a teenager, I became the person to go to when my co-workers were troubled or faced a difficult situation. “Go talk to Steve. He’s a good listener,” they’d say. I listened quietly and attentively to how they were feeling. It was a time in my life when I knew I found my calling to be a counselor.

After completing a bachelor’s degree in psychology, I took the next step and completed a master’s degree in counseling.  I recall during those days as a stressed and tired graduate student, seeing my counseling clients re-energized me. 

​

Now over 30 years later, I’m still the good listener who people go to when they need support and I still find satisfaction doing so. I am there for people who are on a journey to overcome the obstacles and trials in their lives.

And I will be here for you too.
